Contradictions

I hate mayonnaise

But won't eat a tuna sandwich without it

I love bacon

But only for breakfast

I think root beer is gross

But I love root beer floats

I don't care for sweets

But I can't resist gummy bears (or any gummy candy, really)

I despise religion

But was brought to tears when I entered this building for the first time

I'm not a chocolate fan

But I could eat a whole pan of brownies in one sitting

I love camping

But have a reeeealllllllly hard time going a day without a shower

Mozart's Requiem is, in my opinion, the most beautiful piece of music ever written

But sometimes I just really want to listen to Britney Spears (or Lady Gaga)

I embrace technology (OMG Hadron Collider!)

But have no desire for an iPhone

I'm a girly girl

But sometimes I need to get dirty

What are your contradictions?

  1. I always complain about not have long hair and as soon as it is long enough it's up in a pony tail, I never wear it down.

  5. It's so funny you wrote this ... I was just thinking about writing something just like it (but am too lazy and haven't gotten around to it). I think one of mine would be...

I hate prunes, but love plums.
I hate raisins, but love grapes.

  6. I love it! I think everyone should have their contradictions because it makes you a more dynamic and interesting individual. I'm a girly-girl and a tomboy in one. I hate cheese but certain foods require it (tacos, pizza, etc). :P

  7. I'll eat McDonalds...but insist on having Diet Coke with it!! And I'm another girly girl who sometimes feels better just being one of the boys!! :-)

  8. I actually agree with a lot of these things. Like I'm not a fan of organized religion but I LOVE going into churches, they just interest me.

  10. @Caro - I usually keep my hair really short, and have grand plans to wear cute headbands, clips, etc., but I wear it the same way pretty much every day :-P

@Sabrina - Thank you! Love you, too!

@Ari - Ranch dressing on french fries, pizza, chicken wings...SOOOO good.

@LiLu - Seriously?! You've never noticed that before?! God, he is one giant hunk of sexy deliciousness. Even when he's covered in shit. Literally.

@Jess - One of my good friends makes the most decadent peanut butter brownies. I basically have to tie my hands behind my back and tape my mouth shut when she makes them.

@Nilsa - I feel the same way! Prunes aren't so bad, but raisins...blech.

@Kim - It's so true. The quirkier the better!

@Jules - I can only eat Taco Bell with Dr. Pepper!

@Krysten - I love big churches and cathedrals, too. They're sort of a contradiction in themselves - generally, leading a spiritual life calls for a simpler life, yet churches are SO elaborate and detailed and EXPENSIVE.

@Rachel - I love fruit, but don't really like it with chocolate! (probably because I don't like chocolate that much...)

  15. I can't resist gummy candy either!!

I'm also a girly girl who loves to get glammed up but I also hate anything fussy or high maintenance.

Also I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, love the outdoors but have never been camping.

PS. Thanks for the comment on my blog today! I think you are Awesome too :)
