Lazy = List

Today has been one of the laziest days on record. I had the day off and didn't get out of my pajamas until about 6 pm. So it's a good day for a random list of bullet points.

  • I quit Farmville the other day. Cold turkey. Surprisingly, I didn't break out in a cold sweat and haven't experienced any subsequent panic attacks. Probably because I still have Scrabble.

  • I started the week out with a bang. Had a good run on Sunday with LOTS of hills and a solid 5 miles on Monday. Then Tuesday came and we went to a Mariner's game, which of course involved beer, hot dogs and garlic fries. Things have gone rapidly downhill since then.

  • I've had something in my left eye since yesterday afternoon. It's driving me CRAZY. I can hear the insanity knocking on my door.

  • Alton Brown is a genius. We're making his Shepherd's Pie for the second night in a row, it's that good.

  • I've been itching for an adrenaline rush lately. I'm low on cash, so skydiving's out. I may just have to settle for a scary movie marathon.

  • 10 weeks until my first half-marathon. Yeep.

  • The Scientist and I are in the beginning stages of planning our September trip back East. We're going for a full 2 weeks - half spent in DC with my brother, SIL, and cutest kids on the planet, the other half spent in Brooklyn with The Scientist's sister and her boyfriend. Possibly with a few days in Boston mixed in.

  • Looking forward to the weekend and my Dove VIP party!!!

What have you been up to?

  2. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, you can ride a bull! Haha, seriously, Jen and I rode a bull in the rodeo and we've never experienced a high like that!

Also, sorry about your eye!!! Feel better!!!

Oh and garlic fries? Om nom!

  3. @Jess - I'm sooooo excited. DC is one of my favorite cities and The Scientist has never been there! I can't wait to show him around, and to see my niece and nephew :-)

@Angela - Not too many bulls around these parts, except for the mechanical bull at one of the clubs downtown... :-) I'm sure you feel my pain on the eye thing after what you were dealing with! And yes, garlic fries = nom nom nom. Until the whole tray was spilled in my hair. True story. I should post pictures.

  4. If it doesn't move around your eye then you might have scratched your eye a bit :(

I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

  5. I started hiding all the Farmville updates. I found them so incredibly irritating.

Your trip is going to be great!

  6. Ugh. I've had issues with things in my eyes like that before. Sucks. But when I finally realize that whatever it was is gone, I throw a little party.

    And half marathon! Wohoo!

  7. Lazy is ok, so long as it allows you to appreciate the madness that is otherwise your life!

  10. Have fun on your trip! I may need to quit farmville too. It's such a time suck and for what? My bf keeps reminding me that we have a real garden in the back yard.

also-stopping by because I read your no cell phone policy on Lemon Gloria's blog and I just want you to know that you are a genius!

  11. @Sabrina - I was totally worried that I scratched it, until I finally found the culprit - a very fine, very white kitty hair. I was brushing my teeth and the light just hit it perfectly so I was able to remove it. See you tomorrow!!!

@Lisa - I don't blame you. I was annoying MYSELF with all the updates! Now I've just completely blocked the application. And I can't wait for our trip! Perhaps I'll see you, Nick and baby J strolling around the city :-)

@Tina - I'm always getting stuff in my eyes, too, but can usually get it out quickly. This one was bad! And yes, half marathon! I'm totally nervous, but really excited.

@Nilsa - You're so right. It's all about the perspective! I have today off, too, and am still in my pajamas (it's noon). I'm loving every minute of it.

@Linda - Quitting Farmville was much easier than I thought. You can do it! And yes, Alton Brown is one of my favorite people on this planet. LOVE him.

@Sarah - I'm doing the Rock & Roll half-marathon. I went last year to cheer for family & friends and LOVED the atmosphere. But the longest race I've ever done is a 5K...I'm still really excited, though! And training is going pretty well.

@Grace - Just do it! It's not so bad. :-) I'm glad you appreciate my no cell phone policy. It is really frustrating to be around people who love their phone more than the company around them. Thanks for stopping by!

  15. Hi Stevie! I dropped over here from Krysten's blog--just thought I'd say hi! I'm actually in the midst of deciding whether or not to come to UW in the fall for grad school. I'm from the East Coast and have never been to Seattle, so your "Where I Live" post was so exciting to read!
