Housekeeping

Since it's MLK Day today, I don't have class. I should be doing laundry, catching up on homework, tidying the house, etc. But I'm not. It's 2:30 in the afternoon and I'm still in my jammies, working my way through the French Press of coffee I made earlier this morning, catching up on blogs and celebrity gossip from last night's Golden Globes. And I'm not apologizing! Sometimes you just need a day of nothing, you know?
DOMAIN
Anyway, I wanted to let all of you know a few things about this here blog. First of all, I bought my own domain! I'm now www.seattlestevie.com. If you're reading in a feed reader, Blogger should still automatically direct you to the new domain, but go ahead and update the feed anyway, just in case!
COMMENTS
I love reading all the comments you leave on my posts, and for awhile I was pretty good about responding to those comments with another comment, like this:
But I'm not sure if all of you click the "Subscribe by e-mail" link when you leave a comment, so you may not even be getting my responses to your comments (on some blogs, it's a box that can be checked).
What I'd really like to be able to do is reply to your comments, individually, by e-mail but most of the time I'm not able to do that because your settings won't allow for it. I came across this quick tutorial the other day which shows how easy it is to change your settings so I CAN reply to your comments! The interactions I've had through blogging have been incredible, so I want to make sure we can interact through this space as well.
DESIGN
I'm slowly working on a re-design for this site to go along with the new domain. It'll be awhile before it's complete, but I'll let you know when it's done. I'm a newbie at this, so if you have design experience and have any tips, send 'em my way! Thanks!
MINGLE
Today is Mingle Monday over at Meg's blog. It's a great way to discover new blogs and meet the bloggers behind them! Meg has done an amazing job of keeping this mingle party going and I've found many new blogs through this great idea. Come and join us!

P.S. Your handmade something is coming...slowly. But it's coming.
The commenting things is one of the main reasons I left the Blogger platform a few years ago. I thought it was ridiculous that I was unable to respond to comments. The onus shouldn't have to be on readers to change their settings or to sign up to receive responses to comments. An author should have access to people who leave comments on their blog. Period.
Stepping down from high hobby horse now. =) Love that you have your own domain name now ... don't you feel like a big girl? ha. I kid.
